✨ What It’s About
You don’t need a seminary degree to read the Bible well. You need the right tools and someone willing to put them in your hands. From the Source is a practical workbook that takes study methods rooted in serious biblical scholarship and adapts them for everyday readers. It walks through the SOAP method and the OICA process (Observation, Interpretation, Correlation, Application), along with practical tools like the 5x5, CLEAR, RINGS, and LIVE, so readers can learn to approach Scripture directly: understanding what they are reading, what the biblical writers meant to communicate, and how to accurately and faithfully apply it to their lives today. This is not a replacement for the local church. It is a starting place, an invitation to read the Bible the way it was meant to be read: slowly, personally, and from the source itself.
👥Who is this Book For?
Everyday Christians who want to read and understand the Bible for themselves. Whether someone is brand new to Scripture, a longtime churchgoer wanting sharper tools, or a small group leader looking for a practical framework, the workbook meets readers where they are without requiring any formal training.
🌅 The Inspiration Behind the Book
So many believers want to read the Bible for themselves but feel lost the moment they open it. They love God and want to grow, yet they end up depending on someone else to tell them what a passage means.
From the Source grew out of a desire to give everyday Christians a clear, repeatable way to study Scripture on their own, so they can go straight to the text with confidence rather than settle for secondhand answers. I wanted a workbook that teaches the how of Bible study, not just the what, so that reading God’s Word becomes something anyone can do faithfully for a lifetime.

✍️ About the Author
Kiel F. Harvey holds a BA in Biblical Studies from Life Pacific University, a Christian university, where he built the foundation in biblical studies that still shapes how he reads and teaches Scripture, and he later earned an MBA. By vocation, he is a national sales leader in the waste and recycling industry, currently a Director of Sales based in the Greater Phoenix area. That combination is the whole point of view behind From the Source. He writes not as a seminary professor or full-time pastor, but as a working believer who has spent years studying the Bible seriously alongside a demanding career and family life.
That is exactly who he wrote the book for. Kiel is convinced that careful, faithful Bible study is not reserved for scholars and clergy, but is something every Christian can learn to do. From the Source distills the methods he has used and taught into a clear, practical framework, giving everyday readers the tools to go straight to the text and understand God’s Word for themselves.
