The River of the Water of Life: Navigating renewal and reformation in church and state streams
by Karl Brettig
✨ What It’s About
We are currently seeing what is now reaching a critical mass of people crying out for renewal and reform, as we in the Western world experience the consequences of living in a withering civilisation. If we are to see significant and lasting renewal and reform, it needs to happen in both church and state and be informed by the movement and values that shaped our civilisation in the first place.
The River of the Water of Life presents an overview of what the Biblical Library has to say about how the Spirit who came at Pentecost still empowers us to share the good news and contribute towards restoring disintegrating communities. We look at navigating the often turbulent waters of renewal and reform in church and state institutions, and rediscover a form of Christianity that has the power to transform our lives and discover our intended destiny as individuals, as well as communities and nations.

Karl, thanks. The image of the Spirit as a river carrying life into disintegrating communities is deeply moving—it reminds us that transformation isn’t just personal, but communal and even national.
