We’re lighting up the October Sky!!! (Does anyone still remember that Jake Gyllenhaal movie from 1999???)
October 10th and October 14th. Mark them down, because two authors in our community are about to give you two very different kinds of fight, and we need every reader we’ve got standing in the gap for both.
This is your call-up notice! No, you don’t need boots. However, you will need a box of tissues for one of these books.

Here’s the line up:
October 10th: Angels on the Purple Floor
Steph Stanley wrote a book she never wanted to have a reason to write. Angels on the Purple Floor is her memoir of losing her son Grant Isaac, and of the God who stayed in the room when everything fell apart. Every chapter is a scripture anchor, an original poem written from inside the pain, and a spot for you to set your own story next to hers.
It takes courage to sit down and write a story like this one. Maybe you’ve had your own experience of loss like Stephanie. Some of the bravest writing means telling your own painful story. October 14th: Elriya — The Great Forgetting
Four days later, Antionette Fowlkes drops a book. Elriya is a dystopian, allegorical gut-punch about a world that’s forgotten what it once knew:
