Overview
This is the complete policy for Christian Book Finder (”CBF,” “we,” “us”). By subscribing to, reading, or using any part of CBF, you agree to everything here.
It has four parts:
Privacy Policy — what we collect, how we use it, and our promise about your manuscript
Terms of Service — the rules for subscriptions, services, tools, and the community
ARC Reviews and Amazon Compliance — how reviews work and what authors may not do
Refund Policy — money-back guarantees and how to request a refund

Part 1 — Privacy Policy
Who we are
Christian Book Finder helps readers discover Christian books and helps authors get their books in front of those readers. We run our publication on Substack, our storefront and book listings, the Christian Authors Demand Lab and other web tools, The CBF Podcast, and our ARC (Advance Reader Copy) campaigns.
This part explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. It covers readers, subscribers, VIP authors, ARC team members, and anyone who contacts us.
Our promise about your manuscript
Your manuscript is used for one thing only — getting a copy to your ARC team. That’s it. Your book belongs to you, and we treat it that way.
When you send us a manuscript, advance copy, or any unpublished work:
It is never used to train AI. We do not feed your manuscript into any AI model for training, and we do not sell, license, or hand it to any company that does.
It is never uploaded to AI tools without your written permission.
It is never used for data collection. We don’t mine, scan, analyze, or pull data from your writing for any reason.
It is never kept on file. We hold your manuscript only as long as it takes to deliver it to your ARC readers. Once delivered, we delete our copy from our email, drives, and devices.
It is never sold, shared, or published by us outside of your ARC team.
It is only sent to approved ARC readers for your campaign — not to our general subscriber list or the public.
Every ARC reader agrees to strict terms before receiving a copy (see Part 3). One honest note — once a file is in a reader’s hands, no one can control it 100%. That’s why we screen readers, set clear terms, and act fast if a copy is misused. For extra protection, we recommend sending a watermarked PDF or using a service like BookFunnel or StoryOrigin to deliver your ARC.

How we use your information
Send you our newsletter, reading challenges, book deals, and updates you signed up for
Feature your book in listings, spotlights, the Book Festival, Substack Notes, and other promotions you request
Run your ARC campaign and connect you with ARC readers
Deliver services and products you paid for, like launch roadmaps, coaching calls, and access to the Christian Authors Demand Lab and other web tools
Answer your messages and give support
Improve our content based on what readers open and click
We will never sell your personal information. We don’t rent or trade our email list, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
If you’re a VIP author, the book details you give us for promotion (cover, description, purchase links, author bio) are meant to be public — that’s the point of featuring you. We’ll only publish what you’ve approved.
Third-party platforms and affiliate links
CBF runs on a few trusted platforms. Each one has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read them.
Substack — hosts our publication, email list, and paid subscriptions
Stripe — processes payments through Substack
Google Workspace and Google Forms — email, files, and application forms
Base44 — hosts the Christian Authors Demand Lab and our other web tools
Podcast and video platforms — host episodes of The CBF Podcast
Affiliate links: Some book links on CBF are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those retailers may use cookies to track the purchase. As an Amazon Associate, CBF earns from qualifying purchases.
Who can see your information
Only the CBF team members who need it to do their job. Contributors who write articles or host interviews do not have access to payment information or subscriber billing details. We share information only when:
You ask us to (for example, connecting you with ARC readers)
A platform we use needs it to deliver a service, like Substack sending an email
The law requires it
How we protect it
We use password-protected accounts with two-factor sign-in where it’s offered, and we limit who can access author and subscriber files. No system is perfect, but we treat your information the way we’d want ours treated.
How long we keep it
Manuscripts and ARC files: deleted once delivered to your ARC team
Subscriber info: kept while you’re subscribed; removed if you ask us to delete it
Applications and service records: kept only as long as needed to deliver the service and keep basic business records
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see the information we have about you, fix anything that’s wrong, delete your information, or stop sending you emails (every email has an unsubscribe link).
If you live in the UK, the European Union, California, or another place with its own privacy laws, you may have extra rights under those laws. We’ll honor them. Just email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
CBF is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Part 2 — Terms of Service
Who these terms cover
These terms apply to everything CBF offers: our Substack publication, storefront and book listings, the Christian Authors Demand Lab and other web tools, The CBF Podcast, ARC campaigns, coaching, paid services, and one-time digital products. If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t use CBF.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy a paid subscription or service, or to join the ARC team.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are billed through Substack and renew automatically until you cancel. Current tiers, prices, and benefits are listed on our Substack subscribe page. You can cancel anytime in your Substack account settings, and you’ll keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Price changes. We may change prices or benefits from time to time. Changes apply at your next renewal, and any price lock or “forever” discount we promised you stays in place as long as your subscription stays active.
Limited benefits. Some benefits have limits — for example, a set number of ARC-led launch campaigns or book listings per year. Unused benefits don’t roll over to the next year and can’t be traded for cash.
Refunds. Refunds are covered in Part 4.
Author services
CBF offers book listings, VIP spotlights, Substack Notes promotions, the Book Festival, ARC-led launch campaigns, launch roadmaps, and coaching. What’s included depends on your tier or the service you bought.
Scheduling. Some promotions need lead time. For example, Substack Notes promotions must be booked at least one week ahead, with your cover, description, purchase link, and chosen date. Late or incomplete materials may push your slot back.
Approval. We review everything before it publishes under the CBF name. We may decline or edit content that doesn’t fit our Christian, book-focused mission.
What we don’t guarantee
We work hard for every author, but we can’t control readers, retailers, or algorithms. So we do not guarantee:
A specific number of reviews, sales, or subscribers
Bestseller status or any Amazon ranking
That every ARC reader will finish the book or post a review
Positive reviews — honest reviews are the only kind we ask for
Market data in the Christian Authors Demand Lab and our other tools is research to help you decide, not a promise of results.
Author responsibilities and your content
You own your work. You keep all rights to your book, manuscript, cover, and anything else you send us. We never claim ownership.
Permission to promote. When you submit promotional materials — cover, description, author photo, bio, purchase links — you give CBF permission to display and share them to promote your book across our publication, storefront, podcast, social media, and emails. This permission is free and non-exclusive, and it ends when you ask us to remove your listing (content already sent in past emails can’t be unsent).
You confirm that:
You own or have the rights to everything you submit
Your content doesn’t copy anyone else’s work or break any law
The book details and links you give us are accurate
Manuscripts are handled exactly as promised in Part 1.
Web tools
Access to the Christian Authors Demand Lab and our other tools is for your personal use, whether it comes with your subscription or you bought it as a one-time product. Please don’t share your login, resell access, or copy or scrape the tools or their data.
Community conduct
CBF is a Christian community, and we ask everyone to treat each other with kindness. In comments, chats, and the VIP Room, please don’t post spam, harassment, hateful content, or anything illegal. We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
Our content
Our articles, guides, launch roadmaps, checklists, courses, tools, logos, and podcast episodes belong to CBF. You’re welcome to share links and short quotes with credit. Please don’t copy, resell, or republish our paid content without written permission.
Disclaimers
CBF provides book marketing education and services, not legal, tax, or financial advice. Our content and services are provided “as is.”
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CBF is not responsible for lost sales, lost income, or indirect damages from using our services. If we are ever found responsible for something, the most we’ll owe is what you paid us in the 12 months before the issue.
Ending your account
You can cancel anytime. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, misuses an ARC copy, breaks the review rules in Part 3, or abuses the community — without a refund in serious cases.
Part 3 — ARC Reviews and Amazon Compliance
Everything CBF does must follow Amazon’s Community Guidelines and review policies, along with the rules of every other retailer where our authors sell. If any CBF service, request, or practice ever conflicts with Amazon’s guidelines, Amazon’s guidelines win and we will change what we do.
What CBF will never do
Pay for reviews, or offer readers money, gifts, discounts, or rewards in exchange for a review
Ask for positive-only reviews or tell readers what rating to give
Write, edit, or suggest wording for a reader’s review
Arrange review swaps between authors
Ask readers to remove, change, upvote, or report any review
What authors may not do
Authors who work with CBF agree that they will not:
Ask, pressure, or encourage ARC readers to remove, edit, or change a review for any reason — including low ratings or critical comments.
Manipulate reviews in any way, such as asking readers to report or downvote other reviews, post multiple reviews, or time reviews to game rankings.
Contact ARC readers about their reviews outside of CBF’s process.
Offer ARC readers payment, gifts, giveaway entries, or any other reward for a review.
Ask for reviews from family members, close friends, or anyone with a financial interest in the book.
Post reviews of their own book or a competitor’s book.
If you get a review you disagree with, talk to us — don’t contact the reader. If a review truly breaks Amazon’s rules, the right step is to report it to Amazon through its official process.
Authors who break these rules will be removed from ARC campaigns and may lose CBF access without a refund.
ARC reader terms
ARC readers get free early copies in exchange for an honest review. If you join the ARC team, you agree to:
Use the copy for personal reading and review only.
Never share, forward, post, sell, or upload the file anywhere — including AI tools and file-sharing sites.
Delete the copy once you’ve reviewed it or the campaign ends.
Write an honest review in your own words, with whatever rating you believe the book earned.
Follow each retailer’s review rules, including saying you received a free copy when that’s required.
Tell us if an author contacts you to change, remove, or influence your review.
Readers who break these terms will be removed from the ARC team for good.
Authors are responsible for their own book pages
CBF can’t control what happens on Amazon or any retailer. Authors are responsible for following retailer policies on their own book pages and accounts.
Part 4 — Refund Policy
Annual and Coaching plans come with a money-back guarantee for a short window after you pay. Once that window closes, all payments are final.
Monthly. You can cancel anytime, but there are no refunds for any month already charged. You’ll keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
Annual. If CBF isn’t a fit, ask for a refund within 7 days of your payment and you’ll get your money back in full. After 7 days, the payment is final.
Scribes Stack Coaching. Ask within 14 days of your payment for a full refund. After 14 days, the payment is final.
Renewals. These guarantees apply to your first payment on a plan. Renewal payments are final, so cancel before your renewal date if you don’t want to be charged again.
One-time products. Purchases of the Christian Authors Demand Lab or other web tools are final once access has been delivered.
Keeping the Christian Authors Demand Lab
The Demand Lab is included with paid CBF subscriptions. Your access lasts as long as your paid subscription stays active. If your subscription ends, your Demand Lab access ends too.
Want to keep the tool without subscribing? You can. Make a one-time payment of $79.99 and the Demand Lab is yours to keep, with no subscription required.
For example, say your Annual plan comes up for renewal and you’d rather not renew with CBF, but you still want the Demand Lab. That’s fine. Let us know before your subscription ends, make the one-time payment, and your access continues without a break. The $79.99 payment is final once access has been delivered.
How to request a refund
Email us at christianbookfinder@gmail.com within your guarantee window. Include the name and email on your subscription, and tell us which plan you paid for. You don’t have to give a reason.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. When a refund is issued, the paid benefits for that plan end, including Demand Lab access.
To cancel a subscription, go to your Substack account settings. Canceling stops future charges but does not issue a refund on its own.
Changes, governing law, and contact
Changes. We may update these policies. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top and let subscribers know about any major changes. Using CBF after an update means you accept the new version.
Governing law. These policies are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Daviess County, Kentucky.
