For children & adults who need an uplifting story that will point them to Jesus.

🌅 The Inspiration Behind the Book

After observing how those who are hurting will often hurt others, I wanted to inspire people to have empathy, to turn the other cheek, and to love like Jesus.

Dave the bear shows a godly love that turns the other cheek when he meets Chippy: a troubled ground squirrel who is angry at the world because he lost his home during a flood. Chippy thinks that the bear’s joy is evidence that he’s never suffered a day in his life, but he’s wrong. Dave has suffered more than most, but his joy doesn’t come from his life’s circumstances, it comes from God. “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” ---Dave Bear
